Lift Passes

Hi,

We are going in January for the first time. I know nothing about Chamonix so any help would be appreciated.

Is there 2 lift passes available in Chamonix? What are the differences? Advantages/Disadvantages?

There are 2 variations.

try this for more info :-

I would go for the Chamonix le Pass (the old Chamski pass) as it covers most of the lifts (except the top lift at the Les Grands Montets and I think the Aguile du Midi) in january both will be doubtful for skiing down. This in the main due weather and snow depth.

The other pass Mont Blanc Unlimited is more expensive but covers the top Grand Montet lift and the Aguile du Midi. These rides are unlimited but Les grands Montet there is normally a queue. You are allowed 1 prebooking a day and then you queue.

The Agile du Midi for the Valley Blanch is unlikely in Jan.

If you are a family the deal last season was pay for 3 and the rest are free. Eg. Last season the family 6 day pass was 2 adults + 1 child 386.80euros and the other kids were free.

An added benefit of all the passes is you can top them up with insurance at the lift station for between 2 and 3 euros a day.
