hotel recommendation canari, corsica, france

My husband and I traveled in Cap Corse in May %26#39;07. We decided to spend one night in Canari, about mid-way on the western coast. We stayed in a converted franciscan monastery called I Fioretti. the place had a lot of character - thick, stone walls and long, cool halls. Rooms were nice, but basic. Most rooms have a sea view. The drive to Canari is beautiful and vertigious. The woman who manages the hotel is very nice. Sea view rooms were 60 euros, including breakfast. they can be contacted by email but give a few days for reply. you may receive your reply in french but you can write to them in english. email is ifioretti@wanadoo.fr

Thanks for that. I have been to Canari, but I was too shaken by the roads to really enjoy it. Maybe next time we might be tempted to stay a night. As you were there in May this year, can you tell me what the state of the western coast road is like now. There was heavy roadworks when we travelled it in June 06.
