maison douce

we are staying at the maison douce this weekend and wondered if anyone has stayed there? It%26#39;s my husbands birthday (its a surprise!) are there any really good restaurants in St. Martin that we should go to as we are only there for 2 nights, if so should we book.

this is a copy of an earlier posting I answered on the same subject

St Martin is quite small, and nearly all of the restaurants are around the harbour, so it%26#39;s quite easy to walk around the harbour and pick the one that suits your taste in food and ambiance. La Marine is one of my favourites here

You can also cross over onto the little island in the harbour, where there are more restaurants. In my opinion La Baleine Bleu and Les Embruns are worth lookin at here

If you walk up the hill from the harbour towards the Post Office (can%26#39;t remember the name of the street) you will find Le Perroquet Noir, also worth a visit.

My favourite is La Baleine Bleu, and yes, it%26#39;s best to book

Re restaurants - try the new BO which is just a short walk away from the quay, by the prison (dont be put off) Didnt maange to get in owing to private function, but looks very chic and contemporary and just right for a special eve if the weather is good as lots of outisde places too - check out the website

Hope you have a good trip and better weather than we unfortunately had!

I might be staying there in August in one of their junior suites. PLease write when you return and tell me what you thought of the place. We would be in a junior suite w/ our 16 year old.

Have a great trip.
