Transportation from Gare l'Est to Gare Monparnasse

Is the metro our only option? A taxi might be too expensive. We hoped there might be bus transportation between the stations.

There is no direct bus service, you could do it with a bus change. The metro is direct on the line 4. A bus would be much much longer but would allow you to see the city.
