Tour de France

Heading to Gordes in 2 weeks. Can someone please tell me how the Tour de France is actually televised in France, i.e., is it broadcast in real time and/or are there recaps at the end of each day? Do people gather in bars or anywhere else to watch? Silly questions, perhaps, but we are only familiar with our regular routine of watching the recaps each evening. Thanks!

All stages are shown in their entirety on Eurosport as well as on French channels. I watched the Alpine stages in a bar in Villefranche last year. Other people there were mainly tourists. I suspect that most French people watch on their own television. There are also recap programmes in the evening.

Tour de France is one of the most popular sport event in France ; all steps are broadcast in real time on channel 2 , usually from about 1 hour and half before the arrival , but in totality for the high mountains steps which are off course the most interesting and the most spectacular ; there is a %26#39;digest%26#39; too in the evening .

And YES you can watch it in some bars in a popular atmosphere .. typically french ;) don%26#39;t miss that !
