Best hotel in Nice for a large group?

I am in charge of setting up hotel reservations for a large group of about 30 people in the Nice/Cannes area and I was hoping somebody more knowledgeable could help me out a bit. We most likely be there over a weekend at the end of july.

Is there an easy/inexpensive way to get between Cannes and Nice using public transportation and about how long will that take?

From what I%26#39;ve read it seems that Nice is a little bit cheaper than other places in the area and will probably be a bit more fun for a group of guys in their late 20%26#39;s to mid 30s looking for some fun nightlife that isn%26#39;t too pretentious. Am I making the right choice or am I way off?

Any recommendations for a hotel that could accommodate such a large group that might get a little bit loud at times? Someplace with a large suite and not exorbitantly priced would be ideal. I was looking at the Holiday Inn on Victor Hugo Blvd.

Thanks for your help

Not a good idea. Nice is not Las Vegas. It is more about good restaurants, which doesn%26#39;t sound like your sort of thing. Yes, you are way off.

A large suite for 30 people? You are looking for a very large suite!

men in 20%26#39;s and 30%26#39;s that will be noisy? You are way off the mark. Suggest looking elsewhere.

We are naval officers/pilots and our ship is pulling in for a few days on the way to the persian gulf so we didn%26#39;t really choose Nice/Cannes, it chose us. I know it%26#39;s not las vegas, last year we had a great time in Lisbon, Crete, and Split and none of those were Vegas either.

And we just use the suite as a sort of meeting place/room to hang out in, we don%26#39;t all plan on sleeping in it.

I have also been looking at Juan Les Pins, is it easy to get to and from there from Cannes?

So any help besides don%26#39;t come would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Again

Hi Sean,

Just an FYI - we went thru Jean Les Pins last October and it%26#39;s pretty quaint for a seaside town (granted it wasn%26#39;t summer, so maybe it%26#39;s more lively in July).

Our understanding from a Cannes local was that JLP does attract a younger crowd during the summer. And it was quite beautiful.

It%26#39;s hard to imagine that a weekend in summer on the Med. sea won%26#39;t be costly. Best of luck to you (and if you find a great deal, let us know).

Regards,

Marjorie

Suggestions - large hotels international chain, a fighting chance you might get most in

Sheraton Four Points Elysee Palace, Rue de France

Westminster Concorde, Promenade des Anglais

The Mercure chain has four hotels in Nice - you might just about get a split site big booking

Novotel at the Conference centre Nice - used to large business groups

Holiday Inn, Victor Hugo

For large scalke dining look at Cafe Flo, opp Galleries Lafayette - they might handle that sort of number

Good luck

Nice at Night,

Waynes Bar

Ma Nolans

Bar Thor

L%26#39;Escalier

Paddy Pub.

Les Diables,

The Event,

Smarties.

Holiday Inn or Novotel both within 15 mins walk of all the Bars,

Just took a group of 10 to Nice and they enjoyed a very loud and boisterous time and lots of Lager and Spirits,

I just love my job..
