I will be staying at a hotel in the Marais district near the Place de Vosges. Can anyone recommend some good restaurants in the area?

Hi Renaissancemom
If you search in the search box at the upper right of the forum questions for marais restaurants (no quotation marks) you will find a lot of threads with good suggestions that might interest you.

We really enjoyed Les Bonnes Soeurs at 8 rue du pas de la mule. It is 1/2 block up from Place des Vosges. We went there twice and were treated like family. The food was fantastic although not traditional french.
Place du Marche Sainte Catherine has several nice restaurants. Our favorite there was Soprano at 5, rue Caron. There is a BBQ place (cooking on hot plate at your table) that looked like fun but we never made it in.
What hotel are you staying at?
Cheers,
Deb

Thanks for your input. We will be staying at the Pavillon de la Reine.

le Petit Marche is just steps away on r. Bearn.

My favorite restaurant in the Marais is Chez Janou. It is VERY popular with the locals, and the food is outstanding. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation.

We just stayed at the Pavillion de la Reine! You%26#39;re going to love it. It%26#39;s really quaint and the service is, without a doubt, unbeatable. Plus, the self service bar is quite nice. Have fun!

Ma Bourgogne on the corner of the Place des Vosges. Brasserie food. Great at lunch. Easy to find, A real gem.

If you like Falafel, go to L%26#39;as au falafel on rue des Rosiers.

We had a delicious lunch at Cafe Marianne, and don%26#39;t miss the scary walk up the circular staircase to the restroom. I leaned out the window and took a picture of my husband sitting outside at our table. Delicious middle eastern food. We had no idea what half of it was when we ordered, but ate every bite. This is a great neighborhood, and Place des Vosges is LOVELY!

my favorites:
La Tete, rue beautreillis (2 blocks from places des vosges) ask for Hugh (pronounce: ewwwww).
Bobar, blvd. Henri IV, also a few blocks away, ask for Herve
(ehr-vay).
tell them Jim sent you. they will take very good care of you.
have fun.
