Can readers please recommend your favorite restaurants, with addresses if possible, for the neighborhood just north of Madeleine? My husband and I would like to enjoy some really good French food for dinnerin the 20 Euro fixed price meal range. Is this even possible for this price?

We stayed adjacent to la Madeleine last month. Try upstairs at Hediard%26#39;s. Also, just north is rue de Castellane, it was our favorite close food street. The artisan bakery there is very good, and also several good restaurants, I don%26#39;t recall the names, Cafe Sud was one.
We loved the area.

We ate at L%26#39;Ecluse 15 Place de la Madeleine 8e tel: 01 42 65 34 69 and the set price lunch is within your range. But the wines by the glass are pricey. There are 6 of them around Paris and specialize in burgundy wine. We each had the special of the day and it was excellent. The resto is ususually very busy.
