Has anyone here participated in one of the Meet Parisians at Work programs (…parisinfo.com/paris-sightseeing/…)? It looks like it would be something fun and different to do with my hubby and 18-yr-old daughter next month. There%26#39;s even a program at Poilane bakery - yummy!

Yes, it seems fun, good idea! Something that would be particularly unique is a visit to Rungis, Europe%26#39;s largest wholesale food market. Fascinating, huge! OK, two minor problems: you have to take the bus from Denfert-Rochereau at 5 AM; it%26#39;s € 67 a person (ouch! ). But for this price you can get a visit in English, which is rare in the other proposals.
Otherwise there are two understandings of the %26quot;Parisians at work%26quot; expression: either tiny, luxury oriented workshop that you visit more for the sake of seeing some craftmanship at work than for experiencing Parisians%26#39; everyday work environment; or you actually want to see Parisians in a normal work environment, in which case the Alpha Taxis could be fun, or, by clicking to %26quot;Voilà le travail%26#39;%26quot; link, you can visit actual factories (including luxury ones, such as Cristofle) in nearby Seine-Saint-Denis. For those interested in the arts, the %26quot;behind the scenes%26quot; tour in cinemas or theatres, or the visit to the neighborhood bobo bookshop, could be interesting.

thank you for your reply! i only wish i had found out about this program earlier in my planning! oh well, as i%26#39;m learning through other TA posters, if you don%26#39;t fit everything in to THIS trip, it%26#39;s just an excuse for another trip! :)

FitMomma, to be honest, I didn%26#39;t know about it either until you brought it up! So it%26#39;s one of these cases when tourists can teach the natives a trick or two!

adele, that%26#39;s the beauty of TA, right?!? i couldn%26#39;t have planned our trip without all of the posters on this and the other france forums!
