Saw the Edith Piaf biopic in Dublin last Saturday. Thought it was a powerful piece of cinema. Interested to know what Parisians thought of the film. Also, although the first of Piaf%26#39;s famous concerts in L%26#39;Olympia date back to 1955, I just wondered whether any of the older contributors to this thread think the film re-created these concerts with accuracy ? Do you think that the director%26#39;s use of Parisian scenes helped advance the narrative of the film ?

I haven%26#39;t seen the film, as it hasn%26#39;t opened in Australia yet, but we saw the show La Vie en Rose et Noir in paris 2 weeks ago - it was magic.

The film is actually called La Mome in France not sure people will recognise the English title.

There is a fine article by Judith Thurman in the June 25 New Yorker magazine about this film and Edith Piaf%26#39;s life. It reviewed the film and more.....giving facts known and little known. Well worth the read!!
