Beaches and day trips

Hi,

I am coming to see nice for the second time! I was wondering if you had any advice on beaches... i liked the pebbles more than the sand last time.... Im jut looking for some turquoise water or more off trail beaches!!! Also.... can anyone tell me anything about les illes d%26#39;hyeres....... Is st tropez worth a visit.... and as far as corsica is concerned... is this worth a trip. I was looking at pictures of southern corsica but it looks hard to get to... and there doesn%26#39;t look like too many cheaper places to stay.

Thank you

You LIKE pebbles? Whoa, are you in luck with Nice. Unfortunately elsewhere around tends to be coarse sand like Villefranche or fine sand like Juan les Pins, Antibes and Cannes.

Corsica has a daily express boat that boasts under three hours for the crossing but as you say accommodation is pricey.

St Tropez is a three hour journey each way and is definitely worth the journey but only for the people-watching rather than the beaches, which are nothing spevcial and way out of town and really require independent transport.

Thanks for all the advice!

Try Paloma Beach in Cap Ferrat, France. Take the train from Nice to Beaulieu Sur Mer. Then you can take a taxi or even walk along the coast about 25 minutes (with beautiful views) to Paloma Beach in Cap Ferrat. It%26#39;s a small beach with the small pebbes you like with a nice little restaurant right on the beach.

It wasn%26#39;t crowded at all when we were there in mid-May (about 10 people total on the beach) and we could sit on the beach and watch the yachts float in the sea. Also the restaurant has a small boat and will go out and pick up the yacht owners who want to come in for lunch so it%26#39;s fun to see that.

We only found the beach because we were staying with a friend of my husband%26#39;s who lives in Nice and when we wanted to go to the beach, our friend said %26quot;Ah! I know where I%26#39;ll take you.%26quot;

that sounds amazing!!!! thanks for this.. well appreciated!

Thought I%26#39;d just throw in a quick warning.... there are lots of jellyfish (small but painfull) around Villefranche at the moment. Luckily I saw them at the last minute before plunging in! St Tropez itself defiantly isn%26#39;t off trail though!
