Best spot Montparnasse: SNCF and Museum Pass

Hello,

I shall be landing at CDG, T3, and then staying in Montparnasse near Denfert-Rochereau. Can anyone recommend a less busy museum close by to purchase the museum pass (I really want to limit lining up, hence not wanting to purchase it at our first major museum). Also, I need to pick up a rail ticket from a SNCF ticket counter. Is there a boutique close by the metro, or is there a counter at CDG, or would Gare Montparnasse be the closest? Thank you very much for your help, and as we head off to Paris, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for being so very helpful in the planning of our trip.

Merci bien!

There is an SNCF boutique on ave du General Leclerc a door or two down from the McDonalds, across from the Monoprix. I picked up tickets there before.

No museums on the pass in the 14th... you could go to this one:

Musée de la Poste

34, boulevard de Vaugirard, Paris 15e.

Opening Hours 10am-6pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.

You could go to the FNAC store on 74 avenue des Champs-Elysées, Paris 8ème.

Opening Hours Monday to Saturday: 10am to Midnight ; Sunday: Twelve to Midnight.

M° Franklin Roosevelt, Georges V

It would probably be just as easy to jump on the Metro, and head to the QL. Get off at Odeon and walk the 100 yards or so to the Cluny and purchase your pass there. But truthfully, unless the first museum you plan to visit is the Orangerie or the d%26#39;Orsay, you%26#39;re not going to find long lines. Even at the Louvre, the pass is sold in a separate part of the musuem than regular tickets, and I%26#39;ve never seen a line when I%26#39;ve walked by that office (next to the Poste). You don%26#39;t mention your arrival day, but be sure to visit the website of the museum you do plan to visit first to be certain they%26#39;re open.

You can find just about all the info you need on their website at parismuseumpass.com
