Bastille Day in Normandy??

Does Bayeux or any of the nearby towns celebrate Bastile Day with any special activities???

All towns and villages celebrate the 14th July (only nobody here will understand what on earth your talking about by calling it Bastille Day), whether just a small firework festival in the small villages to a larger celebration throughout the day in the towns. It is very much down to the local community.

If you’re in Bayeux or surrounding area whatever is going on will be advertised locally.

If you%26#39;re after something special mail the office de tourisme and see what they reply with

Thank you for replying; I%26#39;ll check out their website....but a question....how do the French refer to July 14?

FĂȘte Nationale

FĂȘte Nationale or as you do in the US just say le 14th July or le quatorze juillet and everybody knows what your talking about

Bastille day is strangely enough only used by English speakers
