Questions about the 7th?

We will be staying in the 7th in Sept/Oct and I do have a couple of questions.

We will be arriving on Sat at 11am and I am wondering what Bus or Metro/RER would be the best to take to the area? Our metro stop is Ecole Militaire. I know we need to take the RER correct which line and where would we tranfer at?

Sunday is our first full day and as I have been reading alot of resturants and shops are closed on Sunday. do you know of any places to eat dinner this evening, is there any place in our neighborhood open?Or should we plan on taking our dinner also in the Marais area?

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Cheers,

To get from CDG to the ECOLE MILITAIRE neighborhoods of the 7eme...you%26#39;ll probably find that the ROISSYBUS (8,50 €) to it%26#39;s Paris terminus, near Place de la Opéra (at rue Scribe %26amp; rue Auber) and then walking across the street to the OPÉRA Metro station and taking the #8 Metro ligne (heading in the direction of Balard) to the ÉCOLE MILITAIRE station may be your simplest, least expensive and most %26#39;direct%26#39; route. The RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne transfer from CDG to Ecole Militaire will require train changes and RER / Metro correspondances at Gare du Nord (to the #4 Metro)and Strasbourg-Saint Denis (to the #8 Metro) and doesn%26#39;t serve as well for the final destination.

ok let me see if I got read the directions right for www.ratp.fr

Go to the Val de Fontenay-RER A line heading to Auber

Transfer at Opera-Metro 8 line going in the direction of Balard

II then just ride it to Ecole Militaire.

I will then need to purchase 2 different tickets correct one for the RER and one for the Metro?

for the ROISSYBUS do I need to purchase a ticket ahead of time or can I purchase it when I get to CDG?

Cheers,

No no, Magic, all wrong! As its name implies, Roissybus is a BUS not a train! RER is a TRAIN.

So Roissybus is a bus that picks up passengers at all Roissy (%26quot;CDG%26quot;) terminals and then rides nonstop to Opéra. There disembark and follow KDK%26#39;s instructions: so at Opéra you%26#39;ll be going from SURFACE (Roissybus) to UNDERGROUND (métro line 8). You can buy your Roissybus ticket at the Roissybus booth at Roissy; but since it is often unmanned, do like everybody else, ie buy it straight from the driver.
