how much spending money would me and my boyfriend roughly need for 5 nights/6 days in paris?
this is just for general allowance only, like dining, drinks, sightseeing, attractions, travelling around the city etc
if anyone has a rough idea and could let me know id be extremely grateful
we%26#39;re going july 5th-10th

The %26quot;standard%26quot; for a non expensive place is $100/day. However, you are going during peak season and to Paris, which is not a cheap city. Depending on how you eat, how you travel, what you see, you can spend $100 or much, much more.

You could get by on 80 to 100 euros per day each for transport, food, admissions, ... drinks do you mean hard drinks?
beer is about 4-6 euros, for gocery store wine about 5 euros per bottle, pop 3 euros or so depending on cafe, coffee about 3.5-5 euros.

Dear SunGoddess:
From your question, you must be on a budget. There are Monoprix supermarkets all over the place in Paris. There is one beside the Printemps department store. You can buy sandwiches and pastries there for little money. In the supermarket you can buy other food also at reasonable prices. If you eat out once a day and use the supermarket for the rest, you can save a lot of money and still have fun. The pastries here are out of this world!!!

Sungoddess06,
Be wary of what you buy. You can spend it up or be a real CHEAPASS anywhere in the world...
Try not to be over conscious about it but keep in perspective..
I take cash debit card and a credit card..
Anything that i can pay with credit without incurring a fee i do. this prevent me from having to pay exchange rates at crappy rates and also the added cost of each trasaction.
I usually take 120-180 aus dollars a day. for 2.. On days i do trips it hits bout 300 aud dollars prob bout 240 american. and other days where i take the local transport and do a bit of blister inspiring hiking round the local barios i can get by on 50 bucks.
On average i think 80-100 euros when staying out all day doing activities
Im going for 5 weeks and taking 13 000 aussie.. paying all hotels and transfer with credit card.. so i expct to use nearly 10 000 whilst sight seeing. and it will be worth every dollar!
personally i could live off a dry cereal and a sleeping bag.. but the mrs is the opposite. she hasnt got the same energetic drive so sitting down at cafes is going to be the norm for us. something i dont mind but i am expecting to pay premium prices for average meals ;)
Good to see people budgeting. so many friends and family go OS then ring home to get Funds sent over... It can be done on almost any budget but be realistic and you%26#39;ll have a ball...
No doubt you will

I would not say %26quot;CheapA**%26quot; but trying to be frugal is okay. I personally would rather eat like a local and soak up the culture than spend my time with tourists at tourist restaurants.
Of course allow more $ (or in your case Pounds or Euro) for transportation if you go somewhere like Giverny (And I highly suggest you visit it). You can get bottled water at a good price at the supermarket; same with wine. You will be there in the summer so have a few picnics in their wonderful parks. Just bring a wine key to open the bottle. Make it more of an adventure than thinking you are %26quot;pinching pennies.%26quot; There are also usually vendors who sell tasty snacks such as falafel, crepes, etc. And again, in the summertime you can take advantage of farmers%26#39; markets.
Have a wonderful time!
