Festival in St Germain des Pres?

Is there some sort of festival going on in July in St Germain des Pres? If so, does anyone have any info or a website?

On July 13 and 14 you%26#39;ll have the Bals des Pompiers in celebration of the national fete. In St Germain des Pres this takes place on the rue du Vieux Columbier. Very crowded, lots of boozing, dancing, and stripping firemen (if you are lucky). Starts at 9 pm and lasts until 4 am if I recall correctly.

Also note the semi-annual %26quot;soldes%26quot; start in July, as well as the Paris Plage.

Ah so many reasons to love Paris in July. Now I think I%26#39;m going to cry since I won%26#39;t be going this summer.

never got this with Paris Plage. Maybe maybe if your stuck in paris working, and having no chance to escape and desperatly want a tan and show of your body (or beeing a naughty man/woman wanting to look at bodies) you could go there but why on earth else? And who would travel from anywhere to be on this joke of a beach by a poluted unswimmable river?

LuvEurope, the summer sales (%26quot;soldes%26quot;) have already started on June 27th !

we were in the st germain/ latin quarter for the summer solstice party. It was incredibly fun, there was live music on all the streets, hoards of people came in, it was very crowded but we always felt safe. The Parisians really respond well to the live bands, they seem to enjoy the music very much even though many of the bands seemed to be USA tranplants singing songs in english.

I posted this before but I was so impressed with the way the Paris Police handled the crowd, they were present but did not try to be overbearing like the Los Angeles Police tend to be. The crowd got a little crazy at times, there were guys climbing the big fountain and mooning the crowd, but the Police pretty left everyone alone.

It was a very memorable night, we wondered if Bastille day would be similar.
