Any idea the approximate cost of having a guide per day?

But do you think it is such a great idea to hire a guide for a whole day?

I think it is nice to join a group with an english speaking guide, let%26#39;s say for 2 or 3 different visits. I mean you may need to have some rest and private time, not being the whole day with a guide, and listening to different guides is great. Moreover, Lyon is a city that is very easy to visit alone, as you have very well indicated self guided tours (for example on the Croix-Rousse hill).

You may pick up some guided tour from the Tourism Office (located place Bellecour). Have a look on the programme for the month you will be there on the Lyon website:
