we are staying 3 nights near the Arc de Triumphe and will visit Versailles and a shopping outlet mall near Disneyland aswell as lots of short metro trips. Is there a pass/ticket which would be more economical than buying a ticket for each trip?

Buy carnets (pack of ten tickets). Buy the RER ticket when you go to Versailles. There is also a combo ticket for the RER and Versailles which includes a round trip ticket and entrance ticket to Versailles.
