We are traveling to Paris with 10 %26amp; 12 year old boys and would like to know the best time of day / week to visti the Louvre.
As we will be focusing on major exhibits only we would like to avoid the masses, and I feel we may have more success late in the day (2hrs prior to closing?).
Thanks,
Alan

evenings are less crowded (but some exhibits will be blocked off)
we like to hold it in reserve for very hot days -- since the Louvre is cool
we never had any trouble in July walking right in via the Carousel Entrance just before noon - when the heat was climbing -- people tend to crowd in right at opening in the morning
your boys will get in free and you can grab tickets from the booths or machines and be right in
