Vaux le Vicomte - Opera

My husband and I are going to Paris for the first time in Sept. for our aniversary (one year) and the Barber of Seville will be playing at the Vaux le Vicomte while we are there. I think this would be a great evening but I wanted to hear from others that have done this an if I should purchse the tickets an travel by train and taxi there or is there a tour company that oes this. All I find online is information about candlelight night with dinner but nothing about the open air opera.

It%26#39;s easiest to take the train (RER) to Melun and then a taxi or the Chateaubus to Vaux. On days of special events and candlelight dinners, the bus usually runs later to correspond with the end of the event.

We saw the same production in the Luxembourg gardens earlier this spring. It is a fun and light hearted, the crowd casual and the performers are good, but not extraordinary. One problem was the rain, which meant an unexpected ten minute intermission 3/4 through the performance.
