I%26#39;m travelling on the Eurostar to Gare du Nord, and I need to get to Gare du Lyon to catch a connecting train to Annecy. I will have a fair bit of luggage with me, am travelling on a Friday afternoon, and have an hour to make my connection. It%26#39;s the last train of the day to Annecy.
I know there is a RER train that connects the two stations, but realistically once I%26#39;ve disembarked the Eurostar, found the RER station, bought a ticket and hauled my luggage around, will I have a good chance of making it to Gare du Lyon in good time to find the platform and make the connection?
Or is it best to jump in a taxi?

One hour is ample time to do the connection through the RER D line. Arriving at the main concourse of Gare du Nord from the Euro* platform, turn left and proceed to the suburban RER station . Take any train towards Melun/Corbeil Essones/Malesherbes, Gare de Lyon is the second station (10 minutes on the train itself).
There ARE escalators/lifts down to the RER platforms at Gare du Nord an up at Gare de Lyon. They may be hard to find, but they definitely exist.
Consider that every Eurostar spits up at least a quarter of its 800 passengers into the small taxi rank at Gare du Nord. Consider that traffic around Gare du Nord is nightmarish. Go for the peace of mind : ride the Rocket (oops, sorry, that%26#39;s in Toronto) !

Thanks for the advice - reassuring to know that an hour is ample time. In London it%26#39;s usually quicker to get the tube than get a taxi because there%26#39;s so much traffic, sounds like it%26#39;s similar in Paris.
I%26#39;ll look hard for the escalators; though a sudden burst of adrenalin at the thought of missing my train might be enough to get me up the stairs...
