Restaurant Paul Coutanceau -anyone know it??

We are thinking of goint to this restaurant (Paul Coutanceau) during our stay the fasll in La Rochelle. We understand it is somewhat expensive. We are really interested in opinions of anyone who has been there in regard to quality of food, location, service etc - We are staying at Les Brises and are wondering how far it is also.

Thanks for any help

I assume you mean Richard Coutanceau, well, he has been the local food reference for years, and as you can imagine it is not so cheap! But worth it if you can afford.

His sons %26amp; relatives co-opened with him less %26quot;upscale%26quot; restaurants that still have great food. Maybe not quite the level of the main one, of course, but much cheaper, and quality for value is great.

www.coutanceauonline.com/index2.php?chglg=en (full English version, you are lucky!) you have links to all 4 places, with details and menus.

Enjoy your stay!
