Hello from Ireland,
We are going to Biarritz for one week, arriving on August 3rd.
We will have our 5 year old son with us, however I am finding it
difficult to find a Hotel. I have possibly e-mailed about 25 hotels and
they are all fully booked.
Is there another area I could try that is quite near Biarritz but still near a beach for our son.
Thank you

I%26#39;m sorry to hear this, but yes, Biarritz does get completely booked out in the summer and August 3rd is the very beginning of the two very busiest weeks of the whole year.
You could try St-Jean-de-Luz - a few miles west along the coast and served by train and bus from Biarritz (unlike Biarritz the station is central). It%26#39;s a really lovely town with a big and nice beach.
Also Guéthary, which is between Biarritz and St-Jean-de-Luz. This is a small village, really, but is served by train and bus also, with the railway station looking right down onto the small beach. I seem to recall a hotel or apartments that looked right down onto the beach.
Moving even closer to Biarritz is Bidart, another small place with some nice restaurants. Served by bus only.
Most of the public transport to these places to/from Biarritz comes to a halt around 8pm, but with having a young child with you, hopefully this won%26#39;t be too much of a setback.
Going east from Biarritz there is nothing as the beach ends at an estuary of the river running into Bayonne.
I think you could still have a nice time staying at any of these places. In fact, with it being the ultra-high season, and the beach at Biarritz will be full to overflowing, it could be a blessing in disguise.
If you still have no joy, then you would have to look into staying in Bayonne, which is a charming town but is inland and you would have to go 30 minutes on bus no 1 to get into Biarritz and the beach.
