Weather and what to wear in Paris - Late July, early August?

We (mid-late 50s couple) will be in Paris from July 19-24 and August 3 - 8. What kind of weather can we expect and what is appropriate street wear. We will probably eat mostly in cafes and do the touristy (art galleries, churches, Versailles) things. Thanks!!

Usually in late July beg August its very warm in Paris. But as everyone has noticed weather all over the globe had been acting strange lately. Right now for example its under 20 and occasional showers and I guess chilly at night. A good thing is to look at the weather forecast just before leaving to at least get an idea if its going to be around 20 or over 30. Else bring summer clothes, and in case an umbrella and a sweater for chilly nights. Dress as you like, breezy pants that don’t get too hot or skirt is good. I would say shorts works too, might look a bit touristy, but whets wrong with being a tourist. When visiting churches cover your shoulders and don’t wear too short shorts or skirts, else you might be stopped you from entering. If you walk a lot bring comfortable shoes!

Have a great time!

Him -- light weight pants, lightweight cotton shirts --

Her -- light weight skirts, lightweight cotton tops -- or capris -- use lightweight cotton shirt as %26#39;jacket%26#39;

unless you are going to a very nice restaurant for dinner, he won%26#39;t need a jacket -- but my husband always carries one -- wears it on the plane and when we go out for dinner -- lightweight sports jacket that goes with all his pants

carry an umbrella and I always have a sweater in case it is chilly at night (sometimes it is even in July ) and a lightweight rain jacket with hood that I can fold and put in my purse

it will be hot, museums and restaurants while often air conditioned are rarely cooled to the frigid temperatures typical in the US --
